Emplify Survey Results Link – August 2018

Thank you all for taking the Employee Engagement Survey in August! The link above in red shows our overall results. Below is a summary of the results shown in the images.

What is employee engagement?  This is the general indicator of how an employee feels within the company and with their work in terms of meaning, purpose, friendship, professional development, etc.

Summary

  • This survey, we hit a 62% response rate, which decreased since the previous survey.
  • Our workforce is Moderately Engaged, meaning there are people who feel highly engaged with the company and there are people who feel disengaged.
  • Out of 133 employees surveyed, 50 did not participate.

Focus Areas

  • Our strengths include Fairness, Authenticity, and Competency.
    • Fairness – In general, the rewards I receive within the company are fair. The company treats its employees fairly.
    • Authenticity – I believe the leaders of this company are authentic.
    • Competency – I am confident I can meet my goals. My abilities are sufficient enough for the task at hand.
  • Our struggles include Meaning, Role Clarity, and Capacity.
    • Meaning – I find my job to be rewarding. The work I do is valuable.
    • Role Clarity – Overall, I understand what I’m supposed to be doing in my job. I understand how my role fits in with the company purpose.
    • Capacity – I am confident in my ability to handle problems, display the appropriate emotions, and think clearly at work.

The Struggles section indicates what we can improve on as a whole. It does not mean we are weak or lacking in those areas!

Engagement Drivers

  • As a whole, our company improved across the board! The following Engagement Drivers are ones we need to continue to improve on.
    • Capacity – I am confident in my ability to handle problems, display appropriate emotions, and think clearly at work.
    • Meaning – I find my job to be rewarding. The work I do is valuable.
    • Rest – I feel I can take personal time off/vacation time when I need it.
    • Professional Development – I am encouraged to expand my skills and abilities. I have opportunities for growth within the company.

What’s next?  We are continuously making strides to improve every employee’s experience. As we get higher participation rates, we will be able to more accurately determine key areas of improvement to pursue. With this information, we will be able to form concrete solutions and next steps to improve everyone’s experience at M&L. The feedback we receive from these surveys is invaluable, and we hope every employee encourages each other to provide honest feedback.

Thank you all for your participation and we are eager to receive the next set of results! If you want to learn more about the survey results and what they mean, contact Heather Skaggs.
